Indie music publishing company Wonderlous Music (http://www.wonderlous.com), based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, has an immediate internship opportunity for the right candidate(s).
duties/responsibilities:
Working with the owner & founder of a startup music publishing company, interns will be involved in some or all of the following:
– researching music licensing activity in the tv, film, trailer, advertising, & video game arenas
– researching the Wonderlous song catalog in order to fill licensing briefs & craft sync pitches
– scouting new musical talent / unsigned artists; evaluating incoming music submissions
– Wonderlous audio library maintenance (curating creative playlists; .mp3 importing, metatagging, & keyword indexing)
– Wonderlous artist content management (drafting artist bios, website/Synchtank updating & maintenance)
– music publishing administration tasks (song data entry, PRO registrations, creation & maintenance of tracking spreadsheets, research & report generation)
– daily administrative tasks (correspondence, data entry, general office duties)
– any other aspects involved in the daily operations of a boutique music publishing company
qualifications/skills needed:
– passionate fans of contemporary pop culture & the use of music in audiovisual media, including tv, web video (Youtube, Netflix, Amazon), film, advertising, and videogames
– ‘super music fans’ knowledgeable of what’s currently hot, and what’s not
– knowledge of and/or related work experience with music industry & music publishing business concepts and fundamentals
– social media & tech-savvy; general proficiency with the use of Mac computers, Microsoft Office applications, iTunes, Google Drive
– additional proficiency in WordPress, Photoshop Elements, Evernote, Synchtank, Counterpoint Music Maestro are definitely a plus
– prior work experience in a creative/office-type environment
