This position sells catalog titles and creates vinyl reissue campaigns to grow Epitaph’s vinyl business. Responsibilities include managing relationships with retail accounts, liaising with distributors for support, and coordinating with indie retail/distribution to execute meaningful campaigns that sell records.

We are looking for someone to be a passionate ambassador for the roster of artists on our labels. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of our catalogue/the vinyl marketplace, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high energy, and ever-changing work environment.

Bloodshot Records seeks full-time Retail Marketing Coordinator to work in our Chicago office.

We’re looking for someone experienced in navigating the physical retail landscape to run our retail department. Duties include developing new release marketing plans tailored for each artist/release, informing accounts of new release, monitoring stock levels at distributors and along tour dates, organizing in-store performances, maintaining the catalog and UPC database, invoicing, staffing pop-up shop, contacting distributor reps in each territory, packing and shipping, and creatively working catalog titles. The applicant must be comfortable navigating distributors’ B2Bs, Almighty Retail, AtVenue, as well as making phone calls. Needs to know Excel and Word, Photoshop and Illustrator knowledge a plus.

Candidate must have at least one year of paid work experience in retail marketing, in distribution or as a store buyer. The applicant needs to be self-directed and extremely comfortable working independently; however, they need to work well with digital retail and mail order departments. We need someone who is outgoing, organized, and level-headed. The ideal person is passionate about much of the music on the label. Strong indie ethics are a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Cataloging reviews into our database and keeping press kits updated.
-As a voice of the label to the outside world (artists, bands, etc), an outgoing personality and superior verbal and written communication skills are required.

-Community outreach on a local level, cognizant and aware of opportunities when they are available, involvement with arts organizations/events, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Based in Los Angeles.
-Marketing experience in the music industry, including product management, project management, promotions and publicity experience a plus.

Job description:

This role will be busy and demanding, and require both creative flair and an ability and enthusiasm for administration. – Overseeing live activity on your campaigns, and generating it alongside other staff. Developing regional promotions that connect with our Artists’ live touring.

Your Mission at BMG
Your mission is to develop, manage and drive the digital sales strategy for the US, Canada and Latin America in order to maximize sales and streaming revenues for both catalogue and frontline releases. What You’ll Do
Relationships
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with all digital partners in North America and Latin America. e.g. Spotify, Apple / iTunes, Deezer etc
• Build and develop strong working relationships with BMG’s digital distribution partner
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams. Primarily production, marketing and sales
• Be a key member of the Digital sales team and help define and implement BMG’s global digital retail strategy

Sales and Marketing
• Work with North American and Latin American Label/Product Managers and sales teams to set up and create new release products from both catalogue and frontline and to help define digital strategies with all service providers
• Develop various sales tools to communicate new release information, as well as catalogue promo activity and marketing updates to retail and distribution partners
• Assist the sales team/label with digital campaigns including pitching titles, seeking approvals, managing price drops and analyzing results.
• Oversee the creation and booking of Spotify advertising campaigns.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance and make appropriate recommendations
• Help with the communication of best practice advice to relevant colleagues in terms of optimizing the performance of BMG repertoire on digital services.
• Attend internal planning meetings
• Ensure new releases and existing label priorities are properly scheduled in accordance with relevant partner guidelines.
• Provide feedback on the performance of new release and catalogue campaigns, as required.
• Schedule and attend regular meetings with retail partners – including listening sessions, artist meet and greets and general planning meetings as well as inviting retail partners to BMG gigs

Playlists
• Provide expertise on streaming platforms and oversee the pitching of tracks from both frontline and catalogue, to 3rd party playlists
• Build up good relations with editorial contacts at 3rd party playlist curators
• Liaise with frontline and catalogue colleagues, as well as synch to establish which artists and tracks to pitch on a weekly basis
• Plug tracks to 3rd party playlist brands, including Spotify, Apple, Topsify, Digster, etc via the most effective method for each partner
• Monitor which tracks have been added to which playlists and analyze the impact on streaming numbers
• Build an in depth knowledge of the key playlists in your market for various genres in terms of driving streams; and how to best pitch tracks to them

Data Management and Administration
• Establish a good working knowledge of the internal systems and procedures relating to digital sales and distribution.
• Respond promptly to client/partner queries and requests.
• Generate sales and streaming reports for internal colleagues as well as management.
• Provide input and feedback around the development of BMG’s analytics tools in relation to your specific needs

Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the primary mission of the NYC-based Marketing Coordinator is to provide creative support to the New York commercial synch team, as well as the US Synch team when needed.

What You’ll Do:
• Assist with creative pitches when needed and help facilitate outgoing music to clients
• Communicate deal progress/updates on a bi-weekly basis with SVP of Marketing
• Maintain constant communication with SVP of Marketing’s office regarding day-to-day operations
• Assist in developing new tools that help the commercial team pitch BMG’s catalog
• Create playlists categorized by brand, theme, synch-edits, etc.
• Produce and distribute a weekly list of new ad-friendly themed music to the U.S. Synch Team
• Manage and keep track of album/single releases and new trends
• Send BMG’s blasts/newsletters to East Coast Ad client list
• Manage & distribute external show blasts, show RSVP’s, and ticket buys for East Coast/International ticket requests under the guidance of SVP of Marketing’s office
• Attend shows on behalf of BMG’s Synch Team when needed
• Update and maintain the advertising clients contact list with SVP of Marketing’s office
• Coordinate, prep, and print out materials for NYC meetings
• Book and set up conference rooms for department meetings
• Train and oversee Marketing department interns in NY
• Research and compile new/potential advertising clients through industry trades (Ad Age, Ad Week, etc.) and web sites like iSpotTV and SourceCreative.

Must-Haves

!K7’s Brooklyn office is looking for a summer intern to help with the pitching process for sync licensing for film, television and advertising, as well as pitching for programming on digital services like Spotify.

The position will last for three months, and will require two full work days per week (ideally Tuesday and Thursday, but somewhat flexible in terms of scheduling). There will be a lunch and travel stipend.
