Contract & Royalties Administrator

Primary Responsibility
• Review artist contracts to determine royalty obligations for all exploitation methods
• Input terms and other information into the database or excel template and prepare for importing into the Royalty Administration platform (SR1)
• Update database as needed to reflect changes in the contract, payment information, sales or performance data
• Establish escalation or timeline counters to track sales for each artist as applicable
• Audit sales numbers, expenses, and flat fee earnings to determine accuracy prior to preparing accounting statements
• Ensure reporting for master deals and mechanical licenses are performed on time

Requirements
• Strong understanding of the royalty tracking process, copyright, and music licensing
• Royalty audit experience
• Minimum of 5 years record label and publishing experience
• Ability to create spreadsheets and pivot tables to organize and analyze data
• Clear understanding of music contract terminology and its impact on royalty obligations
• Ability to complete tasks on time
• Passionate about the music business and royalty accounting

The Bookkeeper reports to the President and CEO and is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, and performing general accounting functions, as required for companies.

The essential job duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

· Full cycle Accounts Receivable, including preparation of monthly invoices, sales reports, and maintaining customer and vendor records

· Accounts Payable including: purchase orders and vendor records maintenance, and monthly project expense reconciliation

· Cash flow analysis and Multiple Bank reconciliations for accounts on a monthly basis

· Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as needed

· Prepare monthly financial statements

· Maintain required business documents

· Assistance with the annual budget and audit process

· Vendor and distributor statement reconciliation and discrepancies

· Deposit and cash reports

· Prepare and/or review of all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure

· Review all mechanical and artist royalty statements to ensure accuracy and proper income and expense disclosure

· Perform other related duties as may be requested by the President or CEO

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have royalty accounting and music business experience

2. Proficient in accounting software (Quickbooks, Sage)

3. Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

4. 3-5 years Full Charge Bookkeeping experience

DUTIES

– Oversee a customer base that includes indie stores, national chains, big box retailers, and non-traditional outlets. From initial solicitation to coverage analysis to phone follow-ups, the position’s paramount goal is to ensure that our distributed titles are placed into markets where they will move.
– Cold call and follow up both with prospect customers and dormant accounts in order to expand and strengthen our coverage base.
– Keep tabs on the touring and marketing activities of distributed labels and artists. Create relevant email blasts based on these activities; furthermore, identify opportunities along tour routing for in-store appearances, ticket giveaway promotions, social media tie-ins, and supply product if there are holes in coverage.
– Liaising with international consignment partners, requesting and processing statements, and managing stock levels.
– Provides weekly analysis on titles to be restocked, back in stock reports, and holes reports for sales.
– Keeps tabs on media and local events for artists and labels in our wheelhouse. Develops relationships with key tastemakers where possible.

QUALIFICATIONS

– Excellent knowledge of the independent music landscape, particularly urban music and culture, with at least five years of experience working for a distribution company or record label.
– Extremely organized self-starter with a proactive approach to management; with an attention to detail
– Creative strategist with a willingness to take an unorthodox approach to promotion of the label; must be able to work independently

Atlas Music Publishing is seeking an Executive Assistant to support our CEO/Founder, and our COO. This position will be based in our New York office, and will be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support for both executives, as well assisting various departments and the office overall, as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Provide general administrative support and be the primary point of contact to the CEO/Founder, and the COO, helping to reduce their time involvement in day-to-day operational and administration tasks. Oversee general office/facilities administration for the NY office.
• Preparation of meeting materials, assist with a wide variety of projects, requests, research, and reports. Taking minutes in meetings and on calls, preparation of agendas and follow-up, as required.

Requirements:
