Bloodshot Records seeks Retail Marketing Director to work full-time in our Chicago office.

Bloodshot is looking for a motivated candidate, with experience in physical retail, to run our physical retail sales department. Duties include global physical product sales liaison with distributors in all territories, developing new release marketing plans tailored for each artist/release, informing accounts of new release, direct sales to specific indie accounts, researching and building indie account direct sales, monitoring stock levels at distributors and along tour dates, organizing in-store performances, maintaining the catalog and UPC database, invoicing, staffing pop-up shop, packing and shipping, and creatively working catalog titles. The applicant must be comfortable navigating distributors’ B2Bs, Almighty Retail, AtVenu, as well as making phone calls. Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Google Sheets are required. Experience with MailChimp, FileMaker Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus.

Candidate must have at least one year of paid work experience in retail sales marketing, distribution, or as a store buyer. The applicant needs to be a quick learner, self-directed and extremely comfortable working independently; however, they need to work well with digital retail and mail order departments. Must be outgoing, organized, level-headed, hold strong indie ethics, and be a serious music fan who is passionate about much of the music on the label.

Dim Mak, the Los Angeles based lifestyle brand founded by Grammy nominated DJ/Producer Steve Aoki, incorporating record label, publishing, clothing and events is seeking an experienced, highly organized and highly pro-active Operations Manager. Must be fully versed in the delivery of both physical and digital music products to distributors and retailers. Must be a metadata wizard. Must have direct experience with content management systems. Must be able to manage relationships with both artist/management, vendor and in-house to ensure the delivery of properly formatted assets on deadline. Must be adept in working with a high volume release schedule consisting mainly of singles and EPs with tight turn times.

Responsibilities:
• Setting up and delivering new releases to the distributor and international label deals, as well as direct retailers such as Beatport.
• Oversee all company metadata, including generating catalog numbers, UPCs, ISRCs
• Compiling and maintaining label copy for each release, including composers, publishers, and splits
• Collecting production assets (audio, metadata, artwork, video)
• Coordinate audio mastering and QC all final audio
• Managing the release schedule and release date moves
• Creating weekly sales reports for campaign reports and reporting retail wins to management

This person will be responsible for creating and editing a variety of print work and digital content for daily use, marketing, advertising and promotion. Applicant should:

Royalties manager is involved in all aspects of both artist and mechanical royalties. A thorough knowledge of, and comfort with, accounting concepts and legal definitions is essential in completion of all duties.

Responsible for all royalties processing including ensuring the accuracy of reporting and the prompt processing of monies both payable and receivable.

Practical experience with publishing obligations across new and emerging formats.

Interpret royalty agreements, understanding the terms, conditions and calculations necessary for proper, timely and correct statement generation. Work is extremely detailed and analytical, including organization of files, drafting report schedules and summarization of contracts.

Work closely with the finance team to ensure and enforce best practices on matching, reporting systems, royalty flows and data transparency.

Depth knowledge of copyright registration/administration, and copyright law, proven experience with a music publishing company.

Correspond with labels, managers, publishers, accountants, third party licensees and artists on all royalty-related matters. Help build strategic relationships throughout the publishing/artist community.

Position Overview
The Managing Director of Publishing and Sync will lead and grow the publishing business by making Secretly:
An attractive home for writers generally,
The publisher of choice for artists signed to Secretly’s labels,
A creative partner for master and publishing sync uses in film, TV, advertising and games, and
An efficient and transparent royalty collection and disbursement service for our signed writers.
The Managing Director will work closely with A&R on signing writers and managing artist relationships with a subset of clientele. This position will manage the annual budget, working with the COO to achieve financial goals. This person will manage, empower and develop our synch employees based in Los Angeles, CA and our admin staff based in Bloomington, IN. The Managing Director of Publishing and Sync reports directly to COO. This position can be based in either our Los Angeles, CA, Bloomington, IN or Brooklyn, NY office.

Responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership for a high level of creativity, productivity and coordination among direct staff in sync and admin, colleagues in licensing and A&R, and outside partners in artist management and music supervision
Manage admin staff
Weekly one on ones to support and guide timely processing
Coach and advise on admin related database innovations
Develop and manage new admin systems to enhance efficiency and reporting insight
Manage sync staff responsible for both master and publishing sync placements
Weekly one on ones to support, guide and develop staff
Crafting outreach plans around new releases
Develop and track metrics with sync team to create maximum placement opportunity for Secretly’s artists and masters
Manage new signings
On boarding w/ sync and admin staff
Manage relationships w/ sub publishers and ex-NA master side sync partners
Work closely w/ Business Affairs & A&R on new signings and deal structures
Work closely w/ Business Affairs on sync licenses
Work closely w/ Label Department Project Managers and Marketing staff re: sync for master side artists
Serve as point of contact for all SP writers and SG label artists for admin and sync matters
Serve as point of contact for East Coast Ad agencies

Requirements:
5+ years experience in sync licensing, publishing and/or management
Depth of understanding of music publishing and sync licensing
Strong pre-existing relationships within the music supervision community
Knowledge of competitive deal structures and ability to negotiate in a way that optimizes value for the company and fosters long term trust and relationships in the industry
Passion for Secretly Group’s diverse roster and the capability to have a high level of knowledge of the company’s creative assets
Prior management experience and ability to develop strong relationships internally
Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
Experience with DISCO and FileMaker is a plus
Multicultural market knowledge is a plus

Answering incoming questions regarding Pro Music Rights services in a timely and professional manner.
Researching new businesses that may require license agreements.

ATO Records is looking for an ambitious national publicist to join the label’s New York-based team. This person will develop and drive press strategy with our core team. We’re looking for someone with extensive relationships within the music/media worlds, and who will bring their passion to our diverse roster of artists.

Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities include implementing entire album campaigns, across national and regional press outlets. Candidates must have experience securing TV performances, print/digital features and tour press. They must also be able to write press releases, maintain relationships with journalists, artists, photographers and other publicists, proofread and copy-edit, prepare weekly reports and attend artist events. In many cases, the publicist will join for the second phase of an album campaign and help develop strategy, specifically with tour press and fresh ideas.

Experience
Three years experience in music publicity required, working at a record label, independent PR firm and/or management company. Excellent writing skills required, please include 2-3 writing samples with your cover letter and resume. Must have established relationships with key media.
