Time Commitment:

Responsibilities:
• Help with day to day company needs
• Responsible for updating/working with our database management system. Keeping member information up to date and researching prospective members.
• Assisting with event management: preparing guest lists, day of check-in, and collecting materials
• Assist in social media content (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms) and SEO

Qualifications:
Intern must be well versed in Microsoft Office Suite, have great organizational skills, knowledge of CRM platforms and basic HTML are a plus. We want students that are enthusiastic about the music industry and are eager to learn more about the business side of its future.

Supervising a small marketing team and interns, the marketing manager will oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies, create national and international marketing campaigns for physical and digital Smithsonian Folkways products, and advise the Associate Director and Director/Curator on the development of new marketing initiatives.

We are looking for candidates with exceptional oral and written
communication skills, in-depth understanding of key aspects of the
contemporary music industry, aptitude for analyzing and interpreting

MAJOR DUTIES
Working with a wide cultural and stylistic range of products, markets Smithsonian Folkways Recordings on audio formats, video formats, and other media to mainstream, niche (e.g. children’s), and alternative markets, based on expert knowledge of online and physical marketing. Creates and implements marketing strategies for specific products based on appropriate targeted audiences and within fixed budgets. Executes publicity, promotions, and marketing campaigns in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, and other territories worldwide.

Develops and oversees design and production of col lateral marketing and
merchandising materials. Oversees the preparation of advertising copy, coordinates designs with designers, and proofreads promotional texts and advertisements. Provides administrative direction for marketing assistants, public relations firms, radio promotions groups, special events and special project person(s), and other contractors and interns in the area of marketing present-day realities of the music recording industry and in the independent planning and implementation of
marketing programs, campaigns, studies, and special products.

In concert with the Associate Director, identifies and cultivates new marketing territories and distributors. Provides Associate Director with selected sales and marketing analysis data pertinent to ongoing strategy development and evaluation and to new product development.
Performs others duties as assigned.

ATO Records is looking for an ambitious national publicist to join the label’s New York-based team. This person will develop and drive press strategy with our core team. We’re looking for someone with extensive relationships within the music/media worlds, and who will bring their passion to our diverse roster of artists.

Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities include implementing entire album campaigns, across national and regional press outlets. Candidates must have experience securing TV performances, print/digital features and tour press. They must also be able to write press releases, maintain relationships with journalists, artists, photographers and other publicists, proofread and copy-edit, prepare weekly reports and attend artist events. In many cases, the publicist will join for the second phase of an album campaign and help develop strategy, specifically with tour press and fresh ideas.

Experience

The Events Manager oversees all of A2IM’s events including IndieWeek, The Libera Awards, monthly mixers, SychUp, receptions at other conferences and other events. For larger events the Events Manager will hire and manage outside production companies and temporary resources. The Events Manager will personally manage venues and budgets and partner cross functionally with colleagues to promote and run events in a way that contributes to the continued growth of A2IM and its member community.

Specific Duties
● Plan and organize all A2IM Events including but not limited to:
o A2IM IndieWeek
o A2IM Libera Awards
o A2IM Monthly Mixers (currently in NYC, LA, Nashville)
o Holiday Parties (currently in NYC, LA, Nashville)
o Receptions at Various Conferences
▪ A2IM SXSW Breakfast
▪ A2IM Music Biz Reception
▪ Americana Fest Reception
▪ A2IM SynchUp (LA)
● Sourcing and managing venues, ensuring that all aspects of events are well handled across food & beverage, A/V, cleaning, print materials, signage, security, parking, travel and green rooms.
● Deliver an excellent experience for talent, speakers, sponsors, partners and attendees at all events.
● Source RFP’s from various producers on bigger events, select and manage partners.
● Recruit, organize and consult with Chapter Representatives to expand the quality and availability of regional events.
● Lead Libera Awards and other events committees, keeping committee members engaged, organized, up to date and on track.
● Set up and optimize systems related to events including Marcato Festival App for Libera Awards voting and Eventbrite for ticketing.
● Create and manage global events calendar.
● Coordinate with Marketing Manager on email blasts, schedules, ticket pricing and other details to maximize effectiveness of event promotion.
● Coordinate with the Manager of Sponsorship Sales to coordinate inventory, vet pricing and ensure effective activation of event sponsorships.

Requirements
● 3 or more years of live events management and marketing experience.
● Track record in growing the quality, attendance and profitability of recurring events.
● Experience in or deep passion for and understanding of the independent music sector.
● Strong quantitative ability, financial acumen and budgeting and accounting skills.
● Ability to juggle multiple events with varying planning cycles .
● Highly organized problem solver, who collaborates with peers, and is good at managing temporary teams in deadline driven, highly visible event work.
● Excellent communication skills with an ability to listen, set direction, engage staff and lead projects to stated goals.
● Hands-on manager, with highest levels of work ethic and integrity and strong customer service values.
● Bachelors degree in business, accounting, economics, operations management, related discipline, or equivalent experience.

The Manager Sponsorship Sales & Brand Partnerships will be responsible for developing and executing sponsorship opportunities for members and non-members at A2IM’s events and throughout its community. The Manager will also work with brands to forge unique cross promotional alliances to elevate the public and industry profile of the organization and its members and to increase revenue for the organization.

Specific duties include
• Manage, price and create demand for the advertising and sponsorship inventory from A2IM’s various events and communications.
• Work with member companies, and other organizations seeking access to A2IM’s community of music industry decision makers, music and culture tastemakers, and music fans, and create compelling sponsorship opportunities that win new clients and grow existing client relationships.
• Partner with Event Manager and other colleagues in the activation and execution of sponsorship campaigns.
• Increase A2IM’s business by creating branding opportunities for our members.
• Bring added value to existing members and increase renewal rates by increasing the overall number of brand partnership opportunities and partnering with brands that can provide valuable services or products to A2IM’s members.
• Develop creative branding plans aligned with A2IM’s vision and mission.
• Help differentiate A2IM from other music trade organizations by offering its members a unique and valued service.
• Elevate the overall independent music community in the eyes of the advertising, media, and marketing world so that independent artists and musicians are considered for brand partnership opportunities at a rate on par with that of the major labels.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with industry-facing and consumer-facing brands – as well as their media and marketing agencies – in order to better facilitate and negotiate sponsorship/partnerships for A2IM members and future A2IM events.
• Research, identify, pursue, and close new revenue generating opportunities.
• Brand A2IM’s events and ensure that execution meets or exceeds best practices.
• Coordinate information flows with all forms of media, outside PR company, lobbyists, board members, staff, and members.
• Some travel required.
• Other duties as required.

Required Skills and Experience
• 3 or more years of experience in B2B sales.
• Strong sponsorship sales and branding partnership experience with strong roster of industry contacts consistent for working with music and tech companies.
• Strong writing, general written and verbal presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of music industry and particularly independent labels’ issues.
• The drive to go above and beyond to deliver world-class service for our members.
• Skilled in communicating to all levels of the music, media, tech industries.

Specific Duties
