BWSCD, Inc. is a company based in Bloomington, Indiana, administratively supporting the operations of four independent record labels (Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, Secretly Canadian, and The Numero Group), a music distribution company (Secretly Distribution), an artist management company (Fort William Artist Management), a music publishing company (Secretly Publishing), and a property/investment company (Bellwether Properties – US).

This full time position will serve as Controller for the Accounting Department, with emphasis on handling complex tasks and overseeing special projects. The hire will be in charge of the creation and management of internal budgets and the analysis of our financial performance, as well as providing formal financial performance reports for the board of directors and shareholders. The BWSCD Accounting Department provides services for multiple companies, so the ideal candidate must be highly motivated and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and organizational skills. CPA credentials, and familiarity with Microsoft Excel, FileMaker Pro, and QuickBooks are important. The hire will spend time getting to know each company’s basic processes before taking on more complex tasks. Additional work may be added, based on candidate’s experience.

Responsibilities:
– Work with our Director of Marketing to plan and implement creative marketing campaigns that are aligned with overall objectives

– Maintain all label social/web platforms and e-newsletter, and develop best strategies to represent the label and engage and build audience

– Communicate with promoters when our artists are on tour, set label ticket holds, and work with the promoters to build artist awareness and increase ticket sales
– Compile comprehensive demographic and engagement reports on advertising campaigns, social media use, YouTube/VEVO and more
– Assist in the distribution/creation of digital marketing assets in collaboration with internal and external designers including: websites, banner advertisements, music videos, social media creative assets, pre-roll video ads and more.
– Research latest developments in digital media and social media marketing

Qualifications:
– Previous experience in digital marketing and the music industry is required
– Knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop & Basic HTML skills preferred
– Knowledge of Shopify preferred
– Regular user of social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat)
– Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills

1) keep our computers, phones and network running smoothly
2) ensure our staff are comfortable and efficient enough with our infrastructure such that they can continue to do amazing work

Some of the specific responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
– working with our existing tech support staff to maintain the existing network
– working with our IT Department so that our databases work well with the rest of our infrastructure
– coordinating and working with 3rd party vendors for our satellite offices in Austin, Bloomington, Chicago, LA, London, New York and Paris.

Experience

• Must be highly organized and manage stress such that you’re able to work well under periodic high pressure situations

Full Time Position – Artist Assistant / Day to Day Manager

Motherbird Mgmt is a new management company founded by Barclay Crenshaw/AKA Claude VonStroke and Aundy Crenshaw. Within our family of companies is DIRTYBIRD and STX & BRX, two record labels started in San Francisco and now based in Venice Beach. It is home to popular house music producer/DJs Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin & Barclay Crenshaw. All companies work across all areas of music, including management, events, A&R, marketing, publicity, publishing & record labels.

This position will be the personal assistant and day to day manager for Claude VonStroke & Barclay Crenshaw. The primary focus of the position is to keep the artist happy, motivated and in the studio finishing new music. This person will be working very closely alongside our COO/CMO & manager and the artist. They will be coordinating on a daily basis with the record labels, booking agencies & PR companies on the artist’s behalf. They will know how to create and maintain a social media calendar and the artist’s full schedule. They will not be responsible for executing everything (there is already a PR company, a marketing exec, artists and designers, etc.) but they will be responsible for managing every project until it is completed properly.

The ideal candidate will be extremely positive and supportive of the artist, have excellent communication skills and be able to prioritize and multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding and ever-changing environment. Timing is a valuable asset, figuring out good times to present information. We work as a team to execute the artist’s vision and achieve the primary goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage the artist’s daily schedule including interviews, phone calls, meetings, etc.
Interface daily with booking agents on fees, routing and artist strategy. Coordinate and present the artist with tour date offers from booking agents.
Push for prime billing positions and fees with festival promoters and booking agents.
Manage tour date information and update the artists tour calendar with all info from the advancing company.
Coordinate marketing and publicity for the artist especially for release dates and giant tour dates. (Includes artwork approvals and distribution, release coordination, etc).
Maintain artist’s websites and social media calendar (including Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Instagram, Website and Video channels).
Create and managing artist newsletter and all online properties associated with the artist.
• Develop, strategize, proof-read and manage all artist content
• Manage email communication and develop artists databases and fan club
• Track and report analytics for artists digital properties and campaigns
Follow new technologies, promotional outlets, media partners and music trends – bring opportunities to the table.
Coordinate music video production with artist and record label (sourcing directors through research)
Coordinate visual production and overall show production if needed.
Update logistics and login information for everything associated with artist.

Skills Required:
2+ Years in Music Management, Marketing or Publicity
Some music industry experience at a record label, management company, etc.
• Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.

• Hands-on experience with content management systems. We use Asana.
• Strong understanding of social media, marketing tools and trends.
• Basic skills with Photoshop and video editing are a huge plus.
• Fan of dance music with demonstrable knowledge of music business and artists within this genre and nearby genres.

The LAMC (Latin Alternative Music Conference) is the only major conference celebrating and supporting genres of Latin music that are left of center and forging the way Latinos, especially young, bicultural-millennial Latinos, define themselves. Hailed by The New York Times as the “Sundance of Latin music”, the LAMC is also the largest Latin music conference in the US.

The 17th annual LAMC will continue its expanded focus on a diverse array of special events dedicated to music, tech, art and film and we’re looking for hardworking and dedicated volunteers to help us celebrate our seventeen years.

Mack Avenue Records is seeking a Creative Services + Production Manager with solid experience in managing the creation of CD packaging, printing and manufacturing, as well as other new release items, in conjunction with our Los Angeles based Sales + Marketing team.

The ideal candidate will be a key team member and understand the overall new release process, as well as overseeing the coordination of photo shoots while routing and proofing artwork to ultimately ensure product is ready for street date. POSITION PURPOSE: Provide leadership for our new release production process.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for day-to-day creative services + production of new releases, as well as other pre- and post-release elements.

Manage delivery of photos for cover art, packaging and promotion.

Compile and proofread copy from various sources and manage the artwork approval process with art directors, artists/managers and Mack Avenue team.

Maintain budgets, due dates and inventory levels.

Lead and participate in weekly meetings and conference calls.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in pre-release production, including printing and manufacturing of physical product. (Related industry acceptable).

Creative direction for album covers a bonus.

Project management.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficient in Excel, Word, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop and knowledge of digital file formats for photos and other related items.

High level of detail, accuracy, proofreading and quality control.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively while under tight timeframes.

Organized, motivated, diligent, positive and capable.

Able to thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute innovative ideas as needed

Position Purpose:
To focus on and secure radio airplay and promotional exposure for assigned Wind-up Records artist roster.

Outline of Specific Functions:
Promote and track radio airplay for Wind-up Records artists across all rock formats

Develop and maintain professional, constructive relationships with radio personnel

Create and implement marketing/promotions plans which will include but are not limited to, the following: On-air promotions, giveaway campaigns, radio contests, artist phone-in interviews, and artist promotional tours.

Create, develop, and implement effective promotions to launch new and established artists, including planning travel with new artists, developing contests, and creating innovative ideas for artist exposure.

Provide input into the selection of radio singles. Participate in daily promotion strategy calls and in weekly Promotion department meeting. Participate in weekly Marketing Meeting (via phone or in person) as well as other meetings necessary
Track and monitor budgets and expenditures

Requirements:
Minimum 10 years radio promotion experience, preferably most recent experience is at national level

Well versed in active rock and alternative radio with strong programming relationships

Knowledge of campaign strategy, planning and execution

Experience devising and executing effective radio campaigns for developing artists

Knowledge of Mediabase, Soundscan and other relevant analytical tools is a must
